The Challenge: The Adobe Express design community faced two critical issues: designers and contributors lacked fresh design inspiration, and thousands of high-quality, on-trend templates were being created but weren't surfaced prominently to users. This resulted in decreased template discoverability and lower user engagement with seasonal and cultural content.

The Process:

Trend Research & Forecasting

  • Conducted quarterly trend analysis across design, fashion, pop culture, and social media to identify emerging visual themes

  • Analyzed performance data from 2,000+ existing templates to understand what design styles drove the highest engagement

  • Collaborated with global marketing teams to align trend forecasts with cultural moments in each market

Curation & Categorization:

  • Developed trend categories like "Bows and Frills," "Botanicals," "Western Gothic," "Wiggles and Waves," and "Bow-quette"—each with distinct visual identities and keyword systems

  • Created "Planthroposcene," "Big Picture Trends," and seasonal moment collections (Women's International Day, Holi, etc.)
